I just found your web site and I love your music, especially "The Heart of a Man". I also read your biography and I, too, came to Christ through an adversity. God bless.

Gaylon Kath - Friday, May 6th, 2011 11:35 AM CDT
Hi Boyd
I read your epilogue. It gripped me like your book, Chasing The Wind; I just had to read on. I thank you for giving my granddaughter your book at her heart transplant benefit some time ago. If you had not done that, I may have missed the opportunity to read your book as well as other opportunities to witness for Christ. Your book, our conversation at the benefit, and Jessica‚??s strong will to survive her tragedies, has brought me much closer to God. I am very thankful for that. I was also inspired to write Jessica‚??s story. While writing it, I realized that you and she have some things in common. First, you both had medical mistakes that changed your lives forever. However, our Lord and Savior turned the bad around to create a wonderful ministry for each of you. For Jessica, it was touching hundreds if not thousands through prayers and compassion while she struggled with her many tragedies. I believe Jessica brought many closer to God through all of that. For you it is reaching hundreds and thousands through your music ministry, and that brings many closer to God as well. Keep up the good work and I am happy to see Brock joining you in your music ministry. I wish you and your family well.
Our God is an Awesome God
Gaylon

I met you a couple of weeks ago at burning hope baptist church.I was blessed by the song "thats what fathers do".My father had just went home to be with his heavenly father. I have read your book and have been double blessed.Your story really touched my heart.I pray that GOD continues his work in you. Thank you for helping me back. I think i had given up on GOD and myself. All i wanted to do was stay at the house and eat and sleep.I know God had a hand at getting me to revival.I also know he sent me a message through you. That i have to give my whole life to Christ not just the parts i think are broken. i thought i had but when i got sick i took it back and thought i could deal with it myself. How wrong was I!! anyways thank you and God bless

Hi,

My name is Joanne Lowe. I live in Pensacola, FL. God has entrusted me with two ministries. One is encouraging pastors and the other is writing devotions when Jesus lays them on my heart. I would like to share my devotions with you in appreciation for your service to Jesus. If you will please reply to this email, I will send you one of my devotions. Be sure and type your name in the message so I know it is from you. Thank you.

Joyfully Serving Jesus,
Joanne

Allen Risler - Monday, December 6th, 2010 9:06 PM CST
Boyd,
I run sound at Burning Hope Baptist Church and I loved your testimony and music last Sunday in Trinity. You were right when you described one of your lyrics as the most powerful. I too pray daily that I could be more like Him and less like me. I also wish I could find that song on your website on that special page where people go to find requested songs they heard you sing live.

I have 2 requests. One, sell singles online of all the songs you sing live especially that one. What is the name of that song?

Two, the next time you come to Trinity, please sing the National Anthem. Yes, I have read Chasing the Wind, and I know how much that song means to you. I think a prayer for an awakening for our country to return to the principles of our founding fathers, One Nation Under God, would also be much needed and appreciated.

Keep up His kingdom work,

Allen Risler

Hello everyone...looking forward to using this site!

Connie Tomlinson - Thursday, August 12th, 2010 10:31 AM CDT
I read your bio, and wow, we have a little in common. I too was a preme although my mom carried me the full nine months along with my twin brother. She didn't know he was going to have 2 babies untill about 10 days before we came along. I was probably the equivalant of a 7 month baby. I had to stay in the hospital for like a month before they could take me home. I weighed 3 lbs& 3 oz & 16" when I was born. I inherrited a skin disorder called neurofibromatisis which is the result of a gene mutation. I never could run real fast myself because at 14 I had to have a by pass surgery on the aorta because it was narrowed like an hour glass, causing very high blood pressure, and I wasn't getting enough blood flow to lower organs and legs. Docs says it was part of the NF. Today I have tumors all over me and do have problems with spelling and math, have had since childhood; a part of the NF . this Friday 13 I will go in for some outpatient surgery to remove some of these tumors, one of which is on my neck area and close to some nerves. Pleas pray that God will guid the surgeon's hand and give me peace. I hate being put under and the side effects it causes. I trust the surgeon as it is the same one who did my by pass surgeryway back then, and he still remembers me. The only way we found out about the narrowed artery was because of me stepping on a nail while helping build the bond fire my freshman year at good ole Carrizo Springs High! Anyway just a little bit about me. I would like to buy the cd chasing the wind, and the other one that's just the single song on it talking about running the streets of gold. sorry for being long winded, I tried to buy online but I couldn't for some reason or another. My name is Connie. i graduated in 83, but remember you or hearing about you from school and church. Anyways pleas get back with me for info on how to buy and how much. thanks hope you get better soon!!

Bill Story - Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 6:36 PM CDT

I'm reading all the time. Thank you. We've seen you perform twice and will see you tomorrow night (Oct 31) again in Pearsall @ "THE POINT" - all who are there will see God's grace and God's love through you. We are blessed to know you.

William Boyd, I am on my home compter. Drenda told me the pictures from Pearsall were on Facebook. I don't have one but my son Court does. Anyway, I got on our home computer and I could not believe what I read under My Story. My son Court was born pre-mature in a Lubbock, Texas hospital and we spent the 1st 10 years of his life at the same hospital in Dallas. He was born with CP... only in his feet and have had surgery! Amazing! Gina

My sister, Jackie Bell-Rector, found you on Facebook and shared your website with me. Hope to see you soon. Blessings,

Hello Boyd, I'm sure you remember me from Carrizo Springs. We went to school together and even rode the same school bus. I live in Lewisville now and just heard from my sister about your web site. I am so very proud of what the Lord has done in your life. I still remember you singing on the bus after school, and the National Anthem at the football games (go Wildcats). May GOD continue to Bless you and your family.

Boyd, Just finished your book this AM. It hit me in the face at 1AM so I put it to the side to finish this AM. What an inspiring book! It was like writing a song. If it doesn't generate mad, sad or glad, we haven't done our job as a songwriter. Your book hit all of these emotions many times. Happy 4th. gg

Hello Boyd,
I just finished your book "Chasing the Wind". Your Aunt Shirley loaned me her copy that she said that she has read numerous times and that it was marked up in several places.

Shirley is married to my uncle and I was visiting with them for a couple of days and knowing my love of reading a good book, she offered her copy to me. Your story is compelling and thank you for sharing your Faith and your life with others.

I will keep an eye on your schedule and will look forward to the next time you are performing in the DFW area and hopefully make one of your upcoming events.

God bless you and your family,
Tony

Hi William. What a moving story and what a true blessing you have been and continue to be to others. I listened to your sample music and truly enjoyed all of the tunes. My husband met John Thompson who gave us your web address and said to contact you for information on recording some of our original Christian tunes. My husband was a volunteer for the Southern Baptist Association and passed on my desire to record the tunes. If you do have a moment please contact me.

Boyd: I can't believe this is happening. My parents were the Coxes from La Pryor, You knew our daughter Pam and you were in our home near Houston. I have a tape of you singing and playing the guitar in our home in the 70's. I have wondered many times what happened to you and if you were using your voice for the Lord. What a joy it is to know that you are in the ministry and using your talents for Him. May God bless you and your family... Sincerely... Jo

Well, last night I read until 2:30 a.m. This book is one of the best I've ever read in my entire life of 58 years! INCREDIBLE!
This is the Christmas season. With your family living in Dallas, Nena may already be hooked up with, and have a big supply of Mary Kay. Let her know I have anything she wants for FREE, a gift from me.. all she has to do is go to my website, pick out what she wants, and I'll send it to her, free and postage paid. What a woman! So glad we got to see photos of her on this website. That's the ONE thing the book lacked.. NOT ENOUGH PICTURES! Upon reprinting, please add the photos of you as a child in the hospital, and your family photo.
Website: marykay.com/tmenzies
God bless your family, and when we are there for Seminar in the summer, I would love to see your family. Perhaps you'll have a booking there, locally, that we can attend. If so, I'll bring my entire UNIT! So be watching for the MENZIES MOUNTAIN MOVERS ;c)

Twyla Menzies - Monday, December 1st, 2008 1:15 AM CST
It's after 1 a.m., and that's just the way it's been going, ever since I started reading William Boyd Chisum's book, CHASING THE WIND! It's a BIG book, and not one you can read in one setting, but you can't wait until you get back to it!

You were a guest at the church my dad pioneered, 55 years ago, and we still attend that church, and so does my father, Rev. C. J. Greer, who pastored the church for 40 years... BRIGHTON HIGHWAY ASSEMBLY OF GOD, in Brighton, Missouri. In fact, my dad and my youngest sister are also reading this book. I'm just DELIGHTED that it's going to be made into a movie.

I've made a "deal" with my son.. He finishes THE SHACK this week, and I'll trade him that for CHASING THE WIND... My son is going to relate BIG TIME to this book, and has himself, chased the wind, and he is coming back, FULL FORCE to Jesus!

Thanks for sharing this book, and what an inCREDIBLE writer you are!

Sincerely,
Twyla (Greer) Menzies

I just finished your book, I could not stop reading it. I have learned so much from your story and I am going to try to live my life that way too. you had a hard time when you were young, I never knew that part. I never knew you did not get to live with your family. I did know what a special person you were and what a beautiful voice you had. You have been thru a lot Boyd and I admire you for being able to get thru it all. Even the darkest part, Some people dont get lucky in that area and get past it. We know a boy that went thru with it and everything you said in the book was true, what it has done to the family is horrible. Thank God you saw the light and stopped. The world needs you in it, you are admired by many. Thank you for writing this book, I laughed, I cried and i prayed while reading it. It really moved me Boyd. God bless you and your family. Boyd, Wow, I read your book in 1 day, then I had my 19 year old daughter read it, then my husband read it. We were all so touched and blessed by your witness. God calls each of us to go and be fishers of men, and your obedience inspires each and everyone of us who want to give up.God is to receive all the glory in all we do and in your book He did. Thank you and God Bless you and your family ! Vicki Blazek Ennis, Texas

My wife and I enjoyed hearing your songs and the Grace-filled witness that you shared. You have always amazed me with your strength and dedication toward helping others. Life can deal us unfair challenges and tragedy. Upon hearing your witness and unbending faith in Our Lord Jesus I was reminded of Job.
You have done well!!

I read your book tonight, three hours of tears, assurance, and revelations -- God loves you Boyd Chisum!

Amazing story - thank you for the part about Keith, Jack's transformation, the high school teacher, Nena, Roy Dale (I know him), the story of your son's laughter, his singing with you, your journey. And yes, I'm still crying -- May God bless you...and keep the star shining brightly for others to see Christ in your music.

Major April Taylor - Friday, September 7th, 2007 9:03 AM CDT
Boyd,
I just back from Atlanta today. I read your book on the way there and back. It took about 6 hours. Just wanted to let you know what I thought.

I felt like you were sitting in my living room and you were just chatting with us. You opened up a window in your life and just let me peek in and see how things were and now are I would imagine. I felt your pains of surgery and joys of healing, your passion for Jesus and your family. You say many times that you are now changed and you will never be the same, I feel just a little of that in the respect that I am blessed to have shared these last few hours reading your story and now I will not be the same either. Your story is being passed on to my friend tomorrow who I know needs to read those words and understand the amazing mercy of Jesus and the mighty Victory of His unfathomable and faithful love.
I'm a better person for meeting you.

God Bless You and Your dear family!

I wanted to thank you very much for mailing me your book and CD. I am a friend of Karin Skold from Sweden. Your story is so inspiring. The suffering you went through was tremendous. When I started the book I couldn't put it down and read it all in one day!

Just wanted you to know your testimony is powerful and touched me. God Bless you and your wife and son!

Pastor Roy Ford - Thursday, May 10th, 2007 12:00 PM CDT
In thirty-nine years as a Baptist pastor, I've seen lots of evangelists, counselors, artists, entertainers, etc., in churches. Some have blessed my life and my church while others have left me wishing I was some place else. I've had them all from unknown locals to Gaither Homecoming regulars (these are great). But recently we were blessed to have William Boyd Chisum for the first time. I'll assure you it's not the last!

Everything about Boyd-personality, talent, and mostly his Godly Spirit-will cause your people to laugh, cry, be challenged, encouraged and inspired. But more importantly, Boyd Chisum will bring your people into the presence of God with all these things.

Boyd's story "Chasing The Wind" should be read by EVERYONE.

I thank God for William Boyd Chisum, and I thank Boyd for his submissive spirit before God. Any pastor will do his people a favor by having William Boyd Chisum share his music and testimony with the church.

From an early age, it is apparrent that Boyd is not about to be beaten. Boyds book will take you on a trip through his life, his highs, his lows, along the way introducing you to people who helped shape his life. This book will make you laugh, and on occasions you may even want to cry, but what you won't want to do is put the book down until you have finished it.
Thanks Boyd!

Thank you for the writings, the music and for being my friend.

I relived your childhood as I read the book and all the old memories came to light again. I recommend your book to all and I feel sure those who read it will find a part of their life in this book. May God continue to bless you, Nena and Brock.

Sheila Murdock - Wednesday, June 28th, 2006 3:52 PM CDT
Boyd,
Your music is so inspiring to me each time I listen to it. There is a message in each song and you can just feel God's presence when you are listening to the songs. "The Storm Won't Last Forever" has become my saying to myself on a daily basis. Many thanks to you for sharing your love for Jesus with the world and reminding us that God Still Moves the Stones..
God Bless you and your family and keep singing his praises.
Your Friend in Christ,
Sheila Murdock
